We spent Mother's day weekend in the Blue Mountains town of Leura, in a beautiful cottage with a huge backyard. Jeyanth and Jahan frisked and frolicked like two little puppies, delighted with the new surrounds and the chance to spend entire days together. They even shared a bedroom for the first time; an interesting excercise since they have very different winding down time-frames - Jahan opting to move from full-steam to fast asleep in 2 secs and Jeyanth reading several books in bed and attempting a few break-outs before falling asleep.
| Jahan and I got up early, rugged up warm and explored the backyard at Leura. | |
| We moved some very important rocks around and explored the woodpile, looking for snakes and possums | |
| We clambered up mounds, poked around in trees and even found a ladder leading up a tree (but Daddy said it was too rotten to climb!) | |
| In the afternoon we went to a park down the road, and played on the climbing frame | |
| We wore both our dads out asking to be pushed higher and higher | |
| We did lots of bushwalking in the blue mountains. Kiran cheated and begged a ride off his daddy! | |
| On Mother's day morning, I gave Amma her present, helped her open it, and showed her how to use it. It is very tickly and she liked it a lot! We let Amma and Aunty Dayan have a lie-in and cooked up a nice hot breakfast for them. | |
| After breakfast, we went to Lithgow to ride on the zig zag railway. Its a real steam engine that goes down a very steep mountain by zig-zagging down, with the engine swapping ends for each leg. We got out each time to watch them de-couple and couple the engine - it was brilliant. | |
| This is the view from the train on the zig zag railway | The house had a lovely open fire which Daddy liked poking, and I liked looking at |
