Sureka's extended family (~30+) flew in from all around the world to spend a week together at Browns Beach Hotel, Negombo Sri Lanka, from the 22-29 July,2005. Sunshine, sand and lots of people to play with - Jeyanth was in clover!
The tsunami of Christmas 2004 had washed a lot of debris out to sea, and though the sands were beautiful, the sea wasn't clean enough to swim in, at least for toddlers. This meant that we spent a lot of time in the hotel pool, cooling off.

| I gave Daddy a good hosing down | See, I can make a grown man cower! |

| I tried the same tactics on Amma | But she fights back! No Fair! |

| This is my cousin Aden - he's doing a big dive | This is my cousin Aanjali with her floaty-wings |

| I spent most of my time terrorising people with the hose | But Aanjali (who's younger than me), pretty much learnt to swim |

|
| There were lots of people to play with, like Nishan-mama | And Mo-paati, and Aden, |
|
|
| and Chithappa who I teased with the hose, | And Geetho-chithi and Aanjali |
|
|
| Amma and Thaatha were too scared of my hose, so they sat in the shade and watched | But Tina-maami didn't mind getting wet |
|
|
| Sometimes people just sat back and watched what was going on | |
|
|
| and sometimes people contemplate deep thoughts by the pool. | |
