Jeyanth turned five on the 12th of July this year and celebrated at kindy with a racing car cake made by his Amma. Jeyanth tells us that the cake was a big hit and declared to be the ‘best cake ever’ by the gang of boys. Jeyanth’s proper party was put off for a couple of weeks till after we’d moved house and we made use of the big empty spaces in the ‘old’ Caird Place house to have the party.

Since it was Jeyanth’s last year at kindy, we decided to push the boat out a bit when it came to his birthday party. Jeyanth has previously celebrated his birthdays with a little family gathering with a few cousins and God-siblings, but this year, we decided to invite not just half a dozen friends from kindy as well, but also Fizzics Education to come and provide the entertainment. We owe a big thanks to Geetho Chithi, whose combined inspiration and research led us to Fizzics. Given Jeyanth’s unmitigated love for all forms of investigation and experimentation - these guys, with their combination of wizz-bangery and scientific rigour were perfect.

Of course, Jeyanth managed to have a serious accident at kindy just days before his party, leading to his sporting 4 stitches and a bandage on his head on the day. Thankfully, he was in fine spirits, having fully bounced back from his trauma, and he and his friends had a fabulous time. Though Jeyanth knew that he had lots of friends coming, we kept the entertainment a secret, so he was completely bowled over when Amanda from Fizzics came with a truckload of funky gizmos.
